Non Disclosure Agreements

A Non Disclosure Agreement, also known as an NDA will is an important tool to help protect your product ideas.  Not only will it help protect your specific intellectual property, but a Non Disclosure Agreement wiil go a long way to keep your suppliers and manufacturing team from sharing sensitive information or “trade secrets” with your competition.

To be honest, most people in the world are honest, hard working people!! But having a written contract between business associates and even friends and family draws out specific responsibilities for each party and helps us all work within the guidelines of that agreement.

Patents can be very challenging and expensive to defend. With and NDA at least you have the ability to sue in small claims court and recover some of your losses without having to hire expensive lawyers or drag you case on for years in District Court.

Now, we’re not lawyers and we’re not qualified to give legal advice but we can tell you from experience that EVEN IF YOU HAVE A PATENT it still a good idea to have a Non Disclosure Agreement between you and anyone that you work with on your product development.

For more information on Non Disclosure Agreements and why you need to use them, please check out this in depth article on the subject.  All of the information that we have provided here comes form interviewing experienced Intellectual Property Lawyers.
